The screenshots below show MetaTrader 5. For MetaTrader 4, simply use MQL4 instead of MQL5; the process is the same.
Download the correct indicator
On your VIP Algos Welcome page, click MT4 Download or MT5 Download — whichever version you purchased and plan to use. Choose just one version.
Find your downloaded indicator file
Open the Downloads folder on your computer and locate the VIP Algos indicator file you just downloaded. Keep this folder open — you will copy the file shortly.
Open MetaTrader and its Data Folder
Launch the MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 desktop application on your computer. At the top-left, click File, then select Open Data Folder. A folder window will open.
Open MQL4 or MQL5, then Indicators
Inside the Data Folder, double-click MQL4 if you are using MT4 or MQL5 if you are using MT5. Then double-click the Indicators folder.
Copy and paste the indicator file
Return to your Downloads folder. Copy the downloaded indicator file and paste it inside the Indicators folder you just opened. You can use Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste on Windows, or the usual copy/paste commands on your computer.
Completely close and restart MetaTrader
After pasting the file, close all folder windows, then fully exit the MetaTrader desktop application. Reopen MetaTrader and wait for it to load. This lets the platform detect your newly installed indicator.
Find your indicator and add it to a chart
On MetaTrader, look for the Navigator panel on the left. Expand Indicators, find your VIP Algos indicator by name, then double-click it or drag it onto an open chart. A settings window will appear: click OK to continue.
Check that the indicator is working
Your VIP Algos indicator should now appear on the open chart. Depending on which indicator you purchased, you may see trend lines, trading zones, buy/sell markers, dashboards, or other visual tools.
Adjust your indicator settings (optional)
You can keep the default settings to start. To make changes later, click Charts → Indicator List, select your VIP Algos indicator, then open Properties. In the Inputs tab, customize available settings or the dashboard position, then click OK.
Start using your indicator across markets
You are all set. Open the markets and timeframes supported by your VIP Algos indicator and begin exploring its features. You do not need to copy the installation file again every time you open another chart. Simply add your indicator from Navigator → Indicators.
Your MetaTrader indicator is ready
Once installed, you can add the indicator to other charts directly from Navigator → Indicators. You only need to install the file again if you use a different MetaTrader installation or reinstall the platform.
Need a little help?
I can’t see my indicator in Navigator.
Make sure you pasted the correct file into the right platform’s Data Folder: MQL4/Indicators for MT4, or MQL5/Indicators for MT5. Fully close and restart MetaTrader, then check Navigator → Indicators.
Why won’t my MT4 file work in MT5 (or vice versa)?
MT4 and MT5 have different indicator file formats. Use the file provided for your exact platform. MT4 indicators commonly use .ex4 and MT5 indicators commonly use .ex5.
Can I use my MT4 or MT5 indicator in the mobile app?
The MetaTrader mobile apps do not support installing third-party custom indicators. Install VIP Algos MetaTrader indicators on a compatible desktop version. For indicators you can view directly on your phone or tablet, explore VIP Algos TradingView indicators.
Can I install my indicator on more than one chart?
Yes. After installing it in the correct MetaTrader desktop application, open another supported chart and attach it again using Navigator → Indicators. Each chart can have its own indicator settings.
