How this plan is calculated
The formulas will appear after a valid calculation.
Current snapshot and loss scenario only. No prior-breach detection, automatic session resets, payout eligibility, minimum-day, news or trading-style checks. Floors are held constant in the loss scenario. A target or consistency result does not confirm that a challenge has passed. Your firm’s dashboard and current rules are the final reference.
Know your limits before the next trade
At $101,500 equity, a $96,000 daily floor leaves $5,500 headroom. A $90,000 overall floor leaves $11,500, so the daily limit binds. Reserving $250 buffer, $500 further stop risk and $50 extra costs leaves $4,700 for additional risk. A $500 new-trade loss would leave $100,450 equity and $4,450 above the tighter floor.

How does the prop firm drawdown calculator work?
Each active loss rule creates an equity floor. Daily headroom is current equity minus the daily floor. Overall headroom is equity minus the overall floor. The higher floor is the tighter rule. From its headroom, the calculator subtracts your planning buffer, further risk to existing stops and extra cost reserve. The remainder is the ceiling for additional trade risk. A current or reported earlier breach sets the additional budget to zero.
What is the difference between balance and equity?
Balance reflects closed trades and booked costs. Equity also reflects floating profit or loss. The loss-limit checks in this tool use equity, while the profit target uses closed balance. Enter the equity figure your firm monitors, including applicable costs. Floating losses are already included in equity; adding them again as existing risk would count them twice.
How are static and trailing drawdown different?
A static floor stays anchored to the initial balance. An end-of-day trail uses the highest qualifying closing balance you enter. Intraday trails can follow a high in equity or in closed balance; choose the correct model. A trailing floor can be capped at a specified maximum level if your programme stops trailing. Current intraday profit does not move an end-of-day reference until the firm’s qualifying reset. Historical peaks cannot be inferred from a single snapshot.
How do daily resets and floating losses affect the limit?
The daily floor can use reset balance, reset equity, the higher of those figures or initial balance. Its allowance can be a percentage of a chosen base or a fixed amount. Enter the snapshot at the firm’s actual session reset; your computer’s midnight may be different. The tool does not reset or connect to your account automatically. Refresh the reset reference and historical high when your programme requires it. Open positions can remain exposed when a new daily floor takes effect.
What should I enter as risk to existing stops?
Enter the additional loss that could occur from current equity if existing positions move from their current prices to their stops. Do not enter the full entry-to-stop risk again when part of that loss is already reflected in floating P/L. A zero assumes no further existing-stop loss. Stops, fills and costs may differ from your estimate, so this is a scenario calculation rather than a guarantee.
Why does touching the floor sometimes count as a breach?
Programmes differ: some prohibit equity below the floor, while others prohibit reaching it. Select the exact boundary for each limit. At a floor there is no room for another loss even if equality is technically permitted. With a touch-breach rule and no planning buffer, the displayed risk ceiling is exclusive: additional risk must be strictly less than that amount.
How do profit targets and consistency checks work?
Closed profit is current balance minus initial balance. A target adds a percentage or fixed profit amount to the initial balance. An optional consistency check compares the best day with either net closed profit or the sum of profitable days’ P/L. For a net-profit rule, the required profit objective is increased when the best day demands a higher total. Positive-days checks remain separate. Further-profit estimates assume the best day does not increase; more profit on that same day can increase the requirement. No deposits, withdrawals or payout-window resets are reconciled.
What does the fixed-loss count mean?
It counts whole losses of the entered next-trade amount that fit the current additional budget, after the existing reserves. The amount per loss and all loss floors are held constant. A touch-breach boundary is respected. It is not a pass probability, predicted streak or simulation of future daily resets, changing percentage risk, profitable trades or trailing highs.
Can I use this for FTMO, Topstep or another firm?
Named presets cover the specified programme and phase only, with editable settings and official links. They were checked on 1 November 2026 and are not updated automatically. Check your order, platform and current account terms. Custom settings support other equity-floor rules; entering the actual dashboard floors is useful when a rule is more complex. This independent tool is not affiliated with the named firms. A buying-power account label can differ from its actual starting balance.
Does a green result mean I have passed or can receive a payout?
No. It means the entered loss scenario fits the selected floors and buffer at this snapshot. Past breaches, trading-day requirements, position limits, news restrictions, trading-style conditions and payout requirements are not verified. A recovered balance does not erase a prior breach. Use the earlier-breach checkbox if one is known, and confirm account status with the firm. A target result only checks the entered numerical objective.
What if there was a withdrawal, reset or a special floor?
Use the firm’s current dashboard floor through the manual daily or overall floor options, and update equity, reserves and any reported earlier breach. Deposits, withdrawals, reward resets and contract-specific adjustments cannot be reconstructed from these fields. Profit-target and net-consistency calculations assume a challenge period without cash flows; turn those checks off if that assumption does not fit your account.
